Meet the veterinarians & team of Cherryville Animal Hospital. We’re pleased to provide exceptional vet care for your pets!

Dr. Robert Browning

Veterinarian

A Maryland native, Dr. Browning graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) with a bachelor's degree in biology in 1988. He went on to attain his doctorate degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Dr. Browning moved with his wife, Dr. Theresa Taylor, to the Cherryville region and started work with Hardison Animal Clinic in 1992. He became the owner of the practice in 1998 and changed the name to Cherryville Animal Hospital to better represent the region.

Dr. Browning limits his practice of veterinary medicine to small animals with a particular interest in surgery. With the limited time he spends outside the office, he enjoys golf, poker, and following the Virginia Tech Hokies. He is the proud father of Alexis and Austin. He and Dr. Taylor have a constantly changing household of animals including numerous cats and 3 dogs.

Dr. Paul Fryer

Veterinarian

Originally from Louisiana, Dr. Fryer has been employed with Cherryville Animal Hospital since 2002. A graduate of LSU's veterinary school, Dr. Fryer and his wife, April, live locally with their dog Henry. Dr. Fryer enjoys time fishing, woodworking, and playing guitar.

Dr. Troy Telenko

Veterinarian

Dr. Troy Telenko was born in El Paso, TX and moved to Charlotte, NC with his mother at the age of seven. He was originally interested in becoming a musician and recording engineer but switched career interests in hopes of helping animals after rescuing his best friend, Shiva the pitbull.

With the help of his wife, Dr. Telenko completed his bachelor’s in science at University of North Carolina at Charlotte and then his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University. Shortly after moving back to North Carolina in June 2021, his wife gave birth to their son and he began working in emergency medicine in September 2021. Dr. Telenko’s professional interests include soft tissue surgery, emergency & critical care, parasitology, and zoonotic and infectious diseases.

Dr. Telenko’s enjoys fishing, gardening, doing normal everyday activities with his wife and son, and, of course, music!

Rachel

Practice Manager

Rachel is the veterinary practice manager and has worked at Cherryville since early 2022. She graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology with an associate degree in 2011 and was a Certified Veterinary Technician in the state of Colorado. She has one daughter and two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. In her free time, Rachel loves to hike, read, or spend time with her family. She is passionate about her fellow veterinary professionals and is a firm believer in work/life balance, a positive work environment, and the importance of mental health.

Eva

Registered Veterinary Technician

Eva has been an RVT at CAH since 2005. She graduated from Gaston College Veterinary Technician program in 2006 and is registered in the state of North Carolina. Eva is the mother of two beautiful children, two dogs, and eight cats! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to the beach, and going to rock concerts. Eva’s passion in veterinary medicine is anything surgical and she can usually be found assisting in surgeries, doing dental cleanings, or caring for post-operative surgery patients.

Tearsha

Registered Veterinary Technician

Tearsha has been part of the CAH family since 2013! She attended the Gaston College Veterinary Technician program and graduated the same year that she joined our team and is registered in the state of North Carolina. Tearsha has 1 cat named George, 1 dog named Starr and has been married to her best friend since 2017. She has known she wanted to work with animals from a young age because desires to help them and provide a voice to them. In her free time, Tearsha loves to be outdoors, spend time with her family and friends, and travel.

Becky

Registered Veterinary Technician

Becky is a Registered Veterinary Technician and has been at CAH since 2017. She has extensive experience in this field, starting her career as a kennel assistant and working her way up to where she is today. Becky graduated from the Gaston College Veterinary Technician program to become registered in the state of North Carolina and worked in emergency medicine prior to finding her home here at Cherryville Animal Hospital. Becky has 3 dogs, 2 horses, a few chickens, 2 amazing daughters and has been married to the love of her life since 2002. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, reading, and spending time with her family.

Jenna

Veterinary Assistant

Jenna joined the Cherryville team in 2020 and is a veterinary assistant. She is married to Carson, and together they have three horses (Bubba and Merl), three cats (Gus, Hazel and Ethel), and two dogs (Nova and Button). In her free time, she does ranch horse shows! She loves being an assistant because she has a passion for helping people who love animals as much as she does.

Ashleigh

Veterinary Assistant

Ashleigh joined the CAH staff in 2022 and is working as a veterinary assistant while in school at Gaston College, gearing up to start the veterinary technician program in 2023. In her free time, she enjoys fishing and hot rod car shows. She has a special place in her heart for cats and all bulldogs. She joined this field because she aims to relieve the suffering of animals and finds there is no better satisfaction than the appreciation she gets from animals and their parents.

Maddie

Veterinary Assistant

Madison has been a veterinary assistant at Cherryville since 2020. She lives with a cute little dachshund named Cash. In her free time, Maddie loves going to concerts and spending time at the lake. She found her way into the veterinary field because she is passionate about making a difference for animals by being their advocate and giving them a voice to be heard.

Reese

Veterinary Assistant

Reese has been a veterinary assistant at Cherryville since 2018. She is currently in school to pursue a veterinary degree because she has always had a love for animals and known she wants to work with them. She says that helping animals is her life’s passion! Reese has one lab mix named Azora and a beautiful daughter. In her free time, she likes spending time with her friends and family.

Crystal

Veterinary Assistant

Crystal has been a veterinary assistant at CAH since 2012 and has been in the veterinary industry since 2007. She is married to her best friend, Jeremiah, who has a charismatic daughter named Izzy, and a cat named Zeke. In her free time, she enjoys attending concerts, going to Destin, Florida, and spending time with her family. She was born and raised in Maryland and loves Ravens football! Crystal’s passion in this field is client interaction and education.

Savannah

Veterinary Assistant

Savannah joined the team as a veterinary assistant in 2024, but has been doing volunteer work at the hospital since 2019 as she completed her bachelors of animal science at North Carolina State University. She plans to collect experience hours at our hospital until she goes on to attain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and PhD in animal behavior. She has a dalmatian named Holly, and in her free time, Savannah enjoys painting, playing the piano, and napping.

Aly

Veterinary Assistant

Aly joined the CAH team in 2022 as a veterinary assistant, and she plans to continue her education to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She has a horse named Moose and a dog named Darci. In her free time, Aly enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and being outside with her horse. Aly grew up with animals and always knew she wanted to work in this field because she has a passion for working with animals and fellow animal lovers.
