Dr. Robert Browning
Veterinarian
A Maryland native, Dr. Robert Browning graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) with a bachelor’s degree in biology and obtained his doctorate degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Browning moved with his wife, Dr. Theresa Taylor, to the Cherryville region and started work with Hardison Animal Clinic before the practice renamed to Cherryville Animal Hospital to better represent the region. Dr. Browning enjoys working with small animals, with a particular interest in surgery.
With the limited time he spends outside the office, he enjoys golf, poker, and following the Virginia Tech Hokies. He is the proud father of Alexis and Austin. He and Dr. Taylor have a constantly changing household of animals including numerous cats and three dogs.

Dr. Paul Fryer
Veterinarian
Originally from Louisiana, Dr. Paul Fryer is a graduate of Louisiana State University’s veterinary school and has been employed with Cherryville Animal Hospital for several decades.
Dr. Fryer and his wife, April, live locally with their dog Henry. He enjoys time fishing, woodworking, and playing guitar.

Dr. John Palermo
Veterinarian
Dr. John Palermo is a dedicated veterinarian and a graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Before joining our team, he spent six years as an associate veterinarian at a busy clinic in Orlando, Florida, where he gained valuable experience in both general practice and client care.
Driven by a passion for high-quality veterinary medicine and a desire to build lasting relationships with clients and their pets, Dr. Palermo and his family made the move to North Carolina to put down roots and continue his work in a community-focused setting. His calm, knowledgeable approach and genuine care for animals make him a trusted provider and an essential part of our hospital team.

Dr. Amanda Grandy
Veterinarian
Dr. Amanda Grandy brings a unique and diverse background to our veterinary team. Originally from the scenic Outer Banks of North Carolina, she remains closely connected to her roots, where her family still resides. Dr. Grandy began her academic journey at East Carolina University, earning degrees in both Biomedical and Bioprocess Engineering, along with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Before pursuing her lifelong passion for veterinary medicine, Dr. Grandy spent three years working as a Pharmaceutical Engineer. She later earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University.
Her wide-ranging veterinary interests include care for small animals, large animals, and exotics, with a special enthusiasm for surgery. Dr. Grandy values the close-knit nature of small-town medicine and is committed to building lasting relationships with her clients and their pets. She has a particular soft spot for senior animals and shares her home with a lively crew of pets of all ages.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Grandy is an avid traveler who has visited all 50 U.S. states and lived abroad. She also enjoys reading, gardening, and baking in her spare time.

Dr. Tiffany Hubbs
Veterinarian
Dr. Tiffany Hubbs is a graduate of Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine. She began her career practicing on the east coast of North Carolina before moving west, closer to her home state of West Virginia. She has previously owned and operated a mixed animal hospital and is a Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Veterinarian (CPEV), with advanced training in euthanasia techniques, best practices, sedation protocols, and anesthesia.
Dr. Hubbs now resides in Bostic with her husband, Michael, on their beef production farm, where they share life with their dog, cat, horse, and herd of beef cattle. Outside of veterinary medicine, she is passionate about fitness and competes nationally in NPC women’s physique and bodybuilding.
